Hazel Gross Cook (Martin)
Hazel Gross Cook, 93, of Lebanon, Va., passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Hummingbird Retirement Villa in Lebanon. Born October 27, 1923, in Russell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Adam and Maggie Martin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Gross; her second husband, Rolce Cook; two brothers, Clarence and Bert Martin; two sisters, Cledis Reynolds and Virgie Fields; granddaughter, Shawna Gross, and great-great grandson, Trevor Williams.

She was a member of the Church of Christ, a former employee of Lebanon Apparel Corp., a devoted wife, loving mother and a precious friend to all.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Dallas (Carolyn) Gross of Thomasville, N.C., Bobby Gross, Betty (Jack) Statzer and Brenda (Woody) Bevins, all of Lebanon.; four grandchildren, Adam (Bethany) Gross of Lebanon. Jeffrey (Linda) Gross, Randall Gross, and Michael (Kathy) Gross, all of N.C.; step-grandchildren, Selena Statzer of Jacksonville, Fla., and Regina (Bob) Taylor of Abingdon, Va.; great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law, Kathleen Martin.

A special thanks to all who assisted with her care for the past five years and especially Hummingbird Retirement Villa and Legacy Hospice Care.

Pallbearers will be Adam Gross, Willard Hale, Brian Reynolds, Gene Martin, Darrell Martin, and Doug Witt.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Minister Bob Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
