Obituary for Heather Mary Candler (Aird)

Heather Mary Candler (Aird)
Heather Mary Candler, 86, of Bristol Va., passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Born in London, England, on December 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Gladys and Hugh Aird. She worked for Russell Manufacturing for 40 years and retired from Wal-Mart after five years to spend more time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Swanson Candler.

Survivors include her son Richard (Scrooge) Candler of Lebanon; daughter, Jeannie Cox and special friend, Bill Wolfe of Bristol; granddaughter, Amie Michael and husband Jeff of Mount Sidney, Va.; grandson, Neal Cox of Bristol; great-grandchildren, Tyler Michael, Gracie Michael, Madison Cox and Makayla Erwin; brother, John Aird of Eastbourne, England; sister, Iris Finch of Sugar Land, Texas; and five special nieces of England.

Special thanks to Dr. Kelley Harris of Bristol, Tenn.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel.

The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home one hour before the service.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon.
