Richard Lee White, 77, of Lebanon, Va. passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.
Born in Lebanon, Va., he was a son of the late Charlie Thomas and Grace Hughes White. Richard was a retired truck driver and was well known as a local musician, playing for many years in the band Midnight Riders. He was a kind and gentle soul, always helping family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Reynolds, Alfred, Tommy, and Clyde White and five sisters, Nannie White, Virginia Salyers, Helen Honaker, Mildred Chafin, and Cleo Lampkins,
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dolly Cantrell White; two daughters, Sharon (Walter) Gobble and Karen King; five grandchildren, Justin Gobble, Ryan Gobble, Cruz King, Santana Cadd and Triston King; one sister, Audrey (George) Lampkins and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Lanny Powers and Bro. Virgil Musick officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon. Those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:45 p.m.
