Obituary for Dean "Corky" Stallard Smith

Dean “Corky” Smith, 61, of Lebanon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, surrounded by family. Born on August 1, 1957, he was the son of the late Harry Stallard Smith and Lois Allene Henley Smith.

Corky was a teacher, a coach, and part of the administrative personnel in the Russell County School System for many years.

Survivors include his son, Jordan Dean Smith; daughter, Allie Hall and husband Justin; granddaughters, Addisyn and Blakely Hall; brother, Mark Smith; special friend, Pam Bruck.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers during this time. A special thanks to the CCU nursing staff and doctors at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Butch Tritt, Todd Henley, Phillip Henley, Doug Hubbard, Bill Watson, Bobby McComas, and Tony Dodi.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jeff Kinder officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon.
