Buford Lee “Boo” Hagy, 82, of Rosedale, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017. Born in Russell County, Va., on August 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Vince and Margie Hagy. Boo was a true outdoorsman; he enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, gardening and keeping bees. He attended Clifton Farm Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky “Mug” Hagy and a sister, Nancy Patrick. A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, he was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his sons, Joe Hagy, Greenville, SC, and Mike Hagy, Lebanon, Va. ; daughter, Penny Hagy and fiancé Ron of Bristol; brothers, Bill Hagy and wife Sue, Bristol, Va. Vince “Mutt” Hagy and wife, Loretta, Swords Creek, Va., Ralph Hagy and wife Emma, Pounding Mill, Va., Roger Hagy and wife Anita, Meadowview, Va., Jimmy Hagy and wife Laura, Cedar Bluff, Va.; sisters, Jean Addison, Cedar Bluff, and Patty McCracken and husband Bob, Abingdon, Va.; grandchildren, Laura Young, Katie Garrett, Logan Hagy, Laken White, Ryan Hagy, and Hana Goss, and great grandchildren, Jorden, Kaitlen, Israel, Gabrial, Levi and James.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Addison, Steve Addison, Charlie Addison, Frankie Carpenter, Robert Carpenter, and Teddy Fogleman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty McCracken, Kenny Hagy, Vince “Bubby” Hagy Jr., Randy Patrick, Doug Addison, and Terry Addison.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Brother Darrell Reynolds and Rev. J. C. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon.

The family will receive friends on Saturday after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
