Obituary for Stella Trigg "Triggy" Osborne

Stella Trigg (Triggy) Osborne, 90, of Lebanon, Va., went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 7, 2018, after fighting a courageous battle with a long disease.

Stella was born to the late Harmon and Lena Jackson of Hansonville, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Philip L. Osborne.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lida Jane Greene, of North Palm Beach, Fla., and her daughter, Abby Altizer and husband Danny of Rosedale, Va. She will be missed by her granddaughter, Alison Marks and husband John of North Palm Beach; her grandson, Christopher Altizer of Halton City, Texas; grandson, William Altizer and wife Bridget of Rosedale; five great grandchildren, John Wesley Marks, her namesake Stella Marks, Wyatt Marks, Maddy Altizer, and Damian Altizer.

Stella was a navy wife of 22 years and accompanied her husband to posts in Norfolk, Va., Patuxent River, Md., Quonset Point, R.I., and Jacksonville, Fla. After her husband's retirement they lived for several years in Key West, Fla., before moving to Bristol, Va. She often said she had the hardest job in the navy, that of being a navy wife.

She is remembered for her undying devotion to her husband and her family. Her faith in God and her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother were the most important things in her life.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Mountain View Assisted Living. Special thanks to Dottie, Richard, Ann, Nellie, Sam, Danielle, Kendra, Clayton, and especially to Cheryl for the remarkable love, attention, and care she provided at a most difficult time and continues to provide to all the residents.

The family would like to invite friends and relatives to help celebrate Stella's life on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Owens Funeral Service in Lebanon, Va. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Danny Altizer officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Va.
