James Coy Singleton Sr., 80, of Lebanon, Va., passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Born in Russell County, Va., on May 10, 1938, he was the son of the late James B. and Emily Willis Singleton. He served his country in the U.S. Army, retired from the Clinch River Power Plant in Carbo and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was an avid farmer and woodworker and loved collecting antique treasures.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Ashby, Faye Rasnake, Voneva Cooper, Geraldine Vaughn, Theda Artrip, Maida Compton, Iolet Maxfield; brother, Elmer Singleton; an infant brother; grandson, Christopher Pridemore.
Survivors include his daughter, Becky Warren and companion Stergel Stepp of Abingon, Va., sons, James Singleton and wife Margaret, Donald Singleton and wife Lisa, all of Cleveland, Va., Jody Singleton and wife Chrystal of Tazewell, Va.; sister, Joann Adkins and husband Casey of Ohio; grandchildren, David Adkins, Allen Pridemore, Cassandra Ward, Patricia Singleton, Kayla Turner, Candida Musick, Emily Singleton, and Dylan Singleton; great grandchildren, Rebecca Ward and Kaytlin Courtney.
Family and friends will service as pallbearers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Larry Blevins and Elder John Fields officiating. Interment will follow in the Maxfield Family Cemetery in Cleveland, with military graveside rites conducted by the Lebanon VFW Post 9864.
The family will receive friends on Thursday after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
