Obituary

Lexie Marie Snead, 82, of Lebanon, Va., passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019. Born in Russell County, Va., on October 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Elsie Meade Chafin. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School and a charter member of Maple Grove Community Church in the Cross Roads section of Hansonville, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Bramble Snead; siblings, JoAnn Statzer, Beatrice Rose, R.C. Chafin, Paul Chafin, Inez Grant, James Chafin, and Janice Cole.

Cherished by those who knew her, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who loved her church family. Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Linkous and husband Mark; grandson, Christian Linkous, all of Lebanon; sisters, Lou Huffman of Lebanon, Virginia Loftus of Wayland, N.Y. and Etta Boughton of Richmond, Va.; numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Donnie Hobson and Rev. Shelton Norris officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

I am sooo sorry to hear about Lexie.. I happy for her to be in heaven with Bill.. My parents Oleane and Otis could not have ask for better friends, now they are all together.. Lexie was very sweet to me and my husband David as well as Bill.. I know Lexie will be missed and you all are in my thoughts and prayers.. Love to all... Sue
