Cynthia Kathleen (Artrip) Anderson, 93, of Lebanon, Va., passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Born in Artrip, Va., on March 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Bessie Mae (Amos) Artrip.

She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church, and enjoyed genealogy, gardening, and cooking for family and friends. She was on the board of directors for the Virginia Black Lung Association and did service for the UMWA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Homer Lee Anderson.

Survivors include her children, Jackie Fraley and husband Tom; Stephen Lee Anderson, and Melissa Garrett and husband Eddie; brother, Arnold Leamon “Muskrat” Artrip; grandchildren, Ashlee Edward Fraley and wife Jessica, Julianna Fogleman and husband Jason, Jacob Edward Garrett, Hazel Garrett, Alicia Kitchens, and Jaylen Kitchens; and great grandchildren, Penelope Fraley, Holden Fraley, and Wren Fraley.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Tom Edwards officiating. Entombment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home one hour before the service.

The family would like to thank Home Nursing Company in Lebanon, especially, Mary, Nathan, and Lisa, for their excellent care and assistance.

Mrs.Cynthia will truly be missed.I'll miss her story's and just sitting and talking.I was so proud to have known and cared for her. My prayers are with the family and I'm so sorry for your loss.
